Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Whether you like brownies with a scoop of ice cream, a glass of milk, or just solo, you’re going to love this scratch recipe.

What ingredients do I need to make brownies from scratch?

How should I store brownies? How long do they last?

Store your extras, if you have any, in an airtight container up to 4 days. Refrigerating it will cause it to dry out, becoming a crumbly mess.

Let’s be real, though, they taste the best within 1-2 days. Are there any left after that?

Ingredients

  • Wet Mixture Ingredients:
  • 1 cup 1 unsalted butter

  • ½ cup ½ semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 2 cups 2 sugar

  • 4 large 4 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon 1 vanilla extract

  • Dry Mixture Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup ¾ unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup 1 all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon ½ baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon ½ Maldon Sea Salt Flakes (you can use regular table salt)

  • ¼ cup ¼ semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Grease 9” baking pan
  • In a pot melt the cup of unsalted butter over medium heat
  • Once melted remove from heat; add the ½ cup chocolate chips and sugar
  • Once chocolate is completely melted add 1 egg at a time and mix completely
  • Add vanilla extract and mix completely
  • Now it’s time to start mixing in the dry ingredients. When mixing you don’t want to use a mixer or “over mix” the ingredients. You just want to completely mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  • Add in the cocoa, flour, salt, baking soda and stir until completely mixed
  • Add in ¼ cup chocolate chips and mix
  • Pour into the greased baking dish
  • Bake for 35 minutes, these are fudge brownies, and the centers will still be “sticky” – don’t over bake them.
  • Let completely cool before cutting.

  1. Love your recipes. Love cooking from scratch. No additives. Scares me when I read all the additives in premodern food. Looking forward to more and also watching you and your coaches doing beautiful things. Thank you for brightening my day.
